Buckra was formed in 1998 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Buckra's musical style has been described as "Lounge Core" featuring elements of Hardcore Gypsy Groove R&B with a heavy dose of back alley Rock and a sprikling of Latin dance music. Buckra has self released two full length CD's "Fall of Porkopolis" and "So Many Weapons" which combined have sold over 10,000 copies and counting. Buckra is know for its live shows and have performed all over North America with acts such as the Goo goo dolls and the Donnas. Alternative Power Pop fused with Hardcore Gangster Gypsy R&B. Buckra is made up of former members of the Rottweilers and Melvin Speed. Proud receivers of the Favorite Band of the year 2002 CAMMY from the Cincinnati Enquirer, a 97xposure 2001 finalist, and winner of the 2000 Mad Frog Battle of the bands. Their debut CD "Fall of Porkopolis" is in its second printing, and the follow up is to be released in the fall of 2002.
