Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song when I was wondering what it was going to be like to become a parent. I drew a child that is precocious and smart. I wanted her to be the spitting image of her grandparents energy with lots of character and humor.
The music is meant to be joyful and melancholy.
The string arrangement and piano accompaniment set the tone is a gorgeous way.
Song Description
This song is about the brilliance of youth when there was no edit button and you spoke from the heart. It muses on the idea that our sensibilities are passed down from generation to generation. And it also is a gentle reminder that the more we age, the more we need to remember that youthful voice and exuberance when life is unencumbered.
I wrote this song when I was wondering what it would be like to meet my child, the child that was yet to be. I liked the spirited child I created, willful, precocious, and smart. The music should give you you the feeling of her dancing around, spinning in circles, all the while charming everyone. Unstoppable.
This song is unique in tone and very captivating.

Lyrics
Ask Amelia
Ask Amelia she's half way to five with her grandmother's sense
and freckles defining her lasting beauty
She's a pistol by admission
Honest truly
Simply nobody's pocketbook friend, she repeats what she hears
and never forgets all those sideways answers
She's the wiser of the elders
Mind your manners
Scale the tree, down she flies
In your face, like a Peter Pan in the making
She'll remind life's imitating
Mother's Daughters
Time, time after, time after time
Here she comes, There she goes
Hardly Blinking
She's a poet without even knowing the words that she reads
are the seeds that she's sewing inside her playhouse
Know no password, no admittance
"Knee High Only"
Ask her quietly if she approves of the bundle of boy
you brought home from the "store"
in that big blue blanket
"He can stay, if you can hack it!"
said so plainly
Time, time after time after time
Here she comes, There she goes
Here she comes, There she goes
Hardly Blinking
