Founded in 2008, Boys and Girls Club Music programs have done over 100 performances in the Madison community. In 2010 Both Black Star Drum Line and the Jenewein Music Makers both performed at Brat fest , Dane County fair, and the Grand opening of the new Madison Childrens Museum. The two groups also recorded their first CD, which was released at Bratfest 2010 and recieved a Madison Hip Hop award nomination for the drum line song "Drop It". The Black Star Drum Line and Jenewein Music Makers are directed by 2010 grammy nominated drummer and Madison Scout alumnus, Joey B. Banks.

Black Star Drum Line just played at African American History event at the Madison Childrens museum Feb 4th, and the Boys and Girls Club Black History Month celebration on Feb. 20th 2011. Black Star Drum Line was just nominated for Youth Performer Of The Year, for the 2011 Madison Area Music Awards.

In 2010 Both Black Star Drum Line and Jenewein Music Makers both performed at the Celebrating Youth event at the Monona Terrace,Brat fest 2010 (two performances), Dane County fair, and the Grand opening of the new Madison Childrens Museum are some of the highlights of the 2010 year. The two groups also recorded their first CD, which was released at Bratfest 2010 and recieved a Madison Hip Hop award nomination for the drum line song "Drop It" which featured Madison rappers, Motion, Rob Dz, and A.N.T.. Look for Black Star Drum Line and the Jenewein Music Makers at community events around the Madison area in 2011.
