Eli's Bio
Singer, songwriter, pianist/keyboardist Eli (that's pronounced El ee) hails from the Philadelphia area. Indeed, fertile ground for musicians, Eli had the opportunity to play with people like singer Phyllis Hyman, producer, T Life, Philly bassist extraordinaire Stanley Clarke as well as good friend Marc Dicciani. After making the rounds of the music dept. and picking up a degree in composition, Eli went on to study with internationally known jazz educator Jimmy Amadie.
Eli's music draws on his early exposure to R&B, a love of funk, and an innate feeling for the blues. The smooth jazz music he's written for Muzak and The Weather Channel may seem like a different genre than vocal pieces on his CDs "My Own Stuff" or "The Eli/ Mark Furman Effort" but they both draw on the same influences. They're set apart mostly by Eli's soulful voice, which puts its unique stamp on anything he sings!
These days Eli's efforts are split between producing instrumental music in collaboration with friends known collectively as "Deez Guyz", and vocal music for his solo career.
