Bentley Music defies a tidy description. It might be easier to describe what it is not. It's not rap, hip-hop or R&B. It's not grunge or heavy metal rock. You won't find sappy ballads or sleepy vocals on this site. Country? Nope.
Bentley Music transcends several genres including alternative, electronic, new age, pop, and rock. It's mostly instrumental work, but I'm always looking for the right artist to add a vocal track. If you hear something that inspires you, that you'd like to contribute to, please contact me.
In the meantime, enjoy Bentley Music. It's fun. It rocks. Sometimes it's even mesmerizing. But, hey, you be the judge. Let me know what you think in my guestbook.
Thanks for visiting, and listening.

The artist behind Bentley Music.
Chris Bentley was born in Gilroy, California in 1955. His family lived in the Bay Area until 1965, then moved to Grants Pass, Oregon. Chris's musical journey began when he discovered The Beatles in 1962. He traded a pocket knife for The Fab Four's first album and played it day and night. First came the Beatle shoes, then the guitar ($19 acoustic). Despite the pleading, the family couldn't afford guitar lessons. So, he taught himself. By the time he was 12 he had written dozens of songs, and would serenade anyone who would listen (it was a short list - he lived in the country). His family had an old upright piano that his mother played during the Christmas holidays. And every now and then, Chris' father would sit down at the piano and, seemingly out of nowhere, pound out one classic Boogie-Woogie tune after another. Watching his father's fingers fly over the keys inspired Chris, who used his guitar knowledge to teach himself the piano. He's been playing keyboards now for over 40 years. He still can't read music.
Chris played acoustic and electric guitar in a number of bands throughout high school; 20 years later he played keyboards in a church band that performed a dozen original tunes at a concert in front of hundreds of people. It scared him to death. Since then he's been content to work in his home studio creating driving instrumentals (by his own admission, his voice sucks) using Logic Studio/Pro 8 software and his beloved Roland piano.
Chris is currently working on his second CD (the first was not distributed), entitled "Drive."
