Rex Poindexter was born and raised near Springfield, Missouri. He graduated from Southwest Missouri State University in 1980 with his B.S., majoring in Communications. He went on to eight years behind the microphone for various radio stations including NPR. In 1993 Rex moved to Los Angeles to pursue his songwriting dream and became the LA Co-coordinator for Nashville Songwriters Association International. He also, wrote and published the free weekly e-mail news letter "The Poindexter", a listing of L.A. area song events. In August of 2003 he was diagnosed with AIDS and Burkitt's Lymphoma, he passed away on January 23, 2004.

Rex Poindexter (also known as "Sexy Rexy") was born and raised near Springfield, Missouri. He graduated from Southwest Missouri State University in 1980 with his B.S., majoring in Communications. He went on to 8 years behind the microphone for various radio stations including NPR. During this time Rex wrote advertising for TV, radio, and billboard ads for which he won numerous awards. In 1988 Rex moved to Washington, D.C. where he became National Marketing Director for one of the nations largest video distributors. In 1993 Rex moved to Los Angeles to pursue his songwriting dream. In L.A. he worked in marketing/advertising and was a Journalist and the Editor for 4 Front magazine. Writing the opinion column "Think 4 Yourself." In 2000 he began concentrating more on his songwriting and later became the L.A. Coordinator for Nashville Songwriters Association International. He also, wrote and published the free weekly e-mail news letter "The Poindexter", a listing of L.A. area song events. In August of 2003 he was diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma. He put up a brave and hard fight which he lost on January 23, 2004.
