The clock was ticking towards the end of another thousand years and the apocalypse seemed imminent, an event which would have been a welcome interruption in the suburban labyrinth of boredom that spawned Insipid in 1999. One tends to become somewhat numb in a repetitive and endless maze of mirrors and moderation. This is the eventless suburban atmosphere where the emotive inspirations of three brothers began to form a hybrid of music. The music itself, derived from metal, ska, grunge, reggae, funk and hints of many other styles, defies the stringently categorized radio standard alt/pop/rock drivel that makes up the stagnant mainstream. It constantly varies with extremes both fierce and melancholy; a fluctuating method of music the band refers to as “The anti-systematic progression of the embryological fusion of die funky eire von satan and a two headed sperm donated by Lars of Metalliska in a filthy womb without a view”. Vocalist/Guitarist Joel, Drummer Adam and Bassist Tim forme
