I started playing guitar, singing and writing songs at university in Durham in tha early 70's.. I have played and recorded with a number of bands in the north eastern England over the years based including the Redheughers Ceilidh Band, Bodhran Bodhran (pronounced Borran), an acoustic folk and roots band and the Jack O'Ryan Band, an electric band playing upbeat folk rock with whom I performed live on local radio. After relocating to Spain for a few years, I joined the Sessionistas band, leading sessions and performing mainly Manx and Irish music at venues along the Costa Del Sol. I am also a member of the Irish Music in Andalucia collective who run regular music sessions around the region.
