With bristling cynicism, surrealistic word-play, and a decidedly post-modern veneer couched in eclectic song arrangements, THE REVERSIBLES tear through rock's back pages to create a distinctive sound that is reflective, stylish, twisted, and captivating. Born from a 2005 showcase at Hollywood's Key Club, THE REVERSIBLES quickly evolved as the combined efforts of McCutcheon, Mars, Sanchez and Aon began to coalesce during recording sessions for a solo project that McCutcheon was completing for Bad Habit Records with triple grammy nominated producer Brad Gilderman (X, Motley Crue, Tom Petty, Brian Wilson). THE REVERSIBLES recently completed videos for two tracks from the Gilderman sessions, and continue to hone thier sound and build their fan base in Hollywood landmark clubs. Their Performance of "Devil's Favorite Angel" is currently featured in Basilisk Films - Shakespeare's Richard III, staring David Carradine, Sally Kirkland and Danny Trejo. In January of 2006, REVERSIBLE completed videos for two tracks from the Gilderman sessions, "All Night Long" and "Pleasure Pile" (available at thereversibles.com). In March they added Danny Aon on Guitar and have continued to hone thier sound and build their fan base in Hollywood landmark clubs such as The Whisky, The Knitting Factory, and others. Their Performance of "Devil's Favorite Angel" is currently featured in Basilisk Films - Shakespeare's Richard III, staring David Carradine, Sally Kirkland and Danny Trejo. THE REVERSIBLES are currently completing their debut CD, set for release in fall of 2006. From the primitive, guitar-driven assault of "Rewind," to the angular, new wave musings of "Corduroy Voices," to the surf-tinged pop-punk of "All Night Long," THE REVERSIBLES exudes irony and passion, tantalizing the senses with an array of emotional depth, a whirlpool mixture of instrumental textures, and astute observations of the human condition molded into splashing pop melodies.
BIO
With bristling cynicism, surrealistic word-play, and a decidedly post-modern veneer couched in eclectic song arrangements, Andy McCutcheon tears through rock*s back pages to create a distinctive sound that is reflective, stylish, twisted, and captivating. From the freewheeling jangle-pop of *Hello,* to the angular new wave stylings of The Cars' classic *My Best Friend's Girl,* to the musing junkyard balladry of *Life Is Too Short,* Andy McCutcheon exudes irony and passion. Akin to the artistry of Beck, Oasis, Elvis Costello, XTC, Robyn Hitchcock, Syd Barrett, and Brian Wilson, McCutcheon tantalizes the senses with an array of emotional depth, a whirlpool mixture of instrumental textures, and astute observations of the human condition molded into splashing pop melodies.
Since the 2002 release of his first full length CD, Welcome to Periphery, on NMX Records, McCutcheon has garnered critical praise for both his recordings and live performances, as well as the enthusiasm of rock legends, such as Ray Manzarek of the Doors and Gene Simmons of Kiss. Extreme Magazine hailed WTP as "a Boiesque/MoodyBluesy aural Tapestry ... off-kilter, kitchy and keen (on insight)," while a Music Connection club review identified McCutcheon as "a charismatic performer peddling a on-of-a- kind product, who's unique voice and inventive song structure place him alongside artists like Beck, Cake and early Bowie."
In addition to his local accomplishments, McCutcheon has also begun to penetrate the national college radio and television markets, boasting a CMJ Top Five Pick in December of 2003, as well as placing songs on Spike and MTV's Tripped Out and Ten Things Every Guy Should Experience. In 2004, McCutcheon signed with Bad Habit/Jetspeed Records , recording and releasing Life Is Too Short, which gained him more critical attention, a distribution deal with Not Lame Records, as well as the opportunity to work with major lable producer Brad Gilderman. A Music Connection review of the EP declares: "McCutcheon's gift for melodic hooks and his uncanny ability to emulate classic rock heroes (early David Bowie, Marc Bolan, Lou Reed, Ian Hunter & The Doors) adds up to a collection of original glam-edelic tunes! that will be of interest to creative music supervisors and labels."
McCutcheon is currently seeking label support for his new CD, Gasoline Rainbow, produced and engineered by triple Grammy-nominated producer, Brad Gilderman. Known for his work with legendary artists such as Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, Brian Wilson, X, and Motley Crue, Gilderman hones McCutcheon's retro-inspired eclecticism into razor-sharp focus, producing a sound that is at once innovative and classic. Adding former Briggs bassist Richard Sanchez and former Resistance drummer Bob Mars to his line up, McCutchon continues to promote his releases in the Los Angeles area to increasingly enthusiastic audiences.

"A Great CD!" --Ray Manzarek of The Doors

Music Connection Demo Review
"Andy's mastery of writing dark yet optimistic lyrics is nothing short of amazing. Anyone who gets their hands on this EP will be holding their breath until a full length CD becomes available. Andy's music is pop rock in its truest sense, blending together the new and the old to make an incredible, clean and original sound.
Review of Life Is Too Short
Live Magazine
"Somewhere between early Bowie and Cake lies the sound of Andy McCutcheon. Melding elements of alt. rock, classic rock and folk into a pop format, he cross-pollinates a variety of genres into a unique style. McCutcheon is a charismatic performer peddling a one-of a-kind product ."
Music Connection Club Review
"In the music world, we encounter those rare individuals who see things differently and whose music makes you turn your head and take notice. Andy McCutcheon is such a visionary. We get the sense listening to Welcome to Periphery that he tosses out the rule book when it comes to music... But then, isn't that how rock's most legendary innovators became that way? Welcome to Periphery is an adventurous, fun listen, as McCutcheon demonstrates off-the-wall quirkiness and eccentricity that makes him stand apart from the rest of the pack."
Review of Welcome to Periphery
D'Scribe of Final Cut
"Jim Morrison, David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Beck, Kula Shaker, The Beatles, David Byrne, The Moody Blues, Nick Cave, Beastie Boys. No, I'm not making a laundry list of my favorite artists. I'm listing the myriad of musical influences that prominently inform the work of Los Angeles based ANDY McCUTCHEON. Since his early teens, McCutcheon has recorded original music steeped in existential poetry and eclectic psychedelic shadings. His debut, Out of the Lion's Mouth, captures the mystical essence of Jim Morrison's darkest epic poems and melds them with funk-rhythm tracks to make them almost danceable. His follow-up, Welcome to Periphery, takes this... further and ventures off into a Bowiesque/Moody Bluesy aural tapestry. "Never Break a Psycho's Heart" is funny and perceptive in its twisted frankness, but it's his meandering poetry and unabashed willingness to be off-kilter, kitschy and keen (on insight) that makes his literary music such a pleasure. Different, but Familiar. An interesting combination."
Two CD Review
Roxanne of Extreme Magazine
"Americans call it Glitter Rock. In England we call it Glam Rock. It has shades of so many things I love: Bowie, Bolan, The Doors. It's a voice from the past, full of atmosphere. Mmm ... fucking made me shiver!"
