THE MAESTRO'S COUNCIL is a monumental 10-movement classical symphony by composer and orchestrator Yves Stilmant, blending the clarity of classical tradition with modern orchestral intensity and impressionistic color.
The work opens with "The Hourglass," a triumphant ouverture driven by rhythmic fire and bright harmonic turns. From there, the symphony journeys through three core influences -- elegance, power, and sharp modern wit -- before expanding into a multi-movement exploration of memory, reflection, and transcendence.
Movements such as "The Invitation," "The Declaration," and "The Disruption" channel the spirit of classical architecture, dramatic momentum, and vibrant orchestral character. The centerpiece, "The Handshake," unites the contrasting musical languages into a soaring fusion of melody, rhythm, and color.
The middle movements -- "Intermezzo of Shadows," "Dialogue of the Giants," and "Elegy for the Past" -- explore atmospheric textures, emotional depth, and subtle orchestral nuance, showcasing Stilmant's impressionistic voice.
The symphony builds toward its luminous conclusion in "Ascension" and "Titan's Awakening," two grand, uplifting movements filled with heroic brass, sweeping strings, and radiant harmonic resolution.
THE MAESTRO'S COUNCIL is both a tribute to the lineage of orchestral music and a bold modern statement -- a powerful symphonic journey carved through emotion, energy, and imagination.
