Full Bio

I've always been a musical soul, especially a lyrical one. Raised in a musical family, my grandfather was a country musician and my grandmother a professional ghostwriter, I began writing songs, lyrics and melody, at just 11 years old. I spent time in my grandfather's recording studio learning the foundations of composition on analog boards. My tenth-grade literature teacher recognized my writing early, advancing me into senior-level creative writing courses where I earned merit awards.

As an adult, I've continued to evolve as a writer including ghostwriting, winning poetry contests, and having my poem Spirit of Humanity selected for publication. Most recently, my song Love On My Own was awarded SongwriterUniverse Best Song of the Month (March 2026), and multiple tracks have reached the Broadjam Top 10 charts.

I am currently building my catalog for licensing while collaborating with musicians in live sessions and continuing to develop my sound through modern production. My focus is creating music that pulls listeners in and stays with them - built for artists, film, and television.

Hi, Brandi. "Never Knew You" is a very good catchy pop piece. I consider "Coffee Shop" a standout as it showcases a lovely melody punctuated with a folky guitar and shows the gentle vulnerable side of you that is easy to relate to. It goes beyond the pop candy and is something more timeless...or another way to put it, it has the "it" factor. Your pop production skills and current sounds are ahead of me. I'm influenced by the sounds of 70s and 80s and focus on very catchy unique melodies and find the story line that fits how the melody feels. No doubt your style and songwriting would easily fit into television and video syncing and broadcasting. Your use of just a few instruments, midi, breaks, and emotive vocals are all interesting to me.

Hi John! Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to multiple songs and give such insightful and meaningful feedback. That means a lot. Thank you for rating Coffee Shop so highly. It's one of my personal favorites as well. I look forward to checking out your music too. 70-80s is a great era of music and would love to hear music influenced by it to see what catchy melodies you're cooking. I'll check it out this evening. Thank you again!

Hi, Brandi! You're much welcome. I'll take some time to listen to some of your songs again. They're very well written! A couple of my own favorites are "Raindrop Soul," which I consider to be my most beautiful song, and "Stay Here Now," my first #1 Earth which pleased me because it's the story of how Lora and I reconnected 20 years later after college days. Many thanks for dropping by!

Yes! I listened to "Stay Here Now" yesterday and loved it. That's awesome it landed #1 on Earth! That's quite the accomplishment and has a beautiful story attached to it too. I love stories which is why I love lyrics. I listened to Raindrop Soul today. It's such a lovely tribute to Ulan - a beautiful name btw. I do love the 70s/80s sound. You are quite talented, John. Thank you for sharing!

Hi,
I came across your track on Broadjam and I really liked the cinematic build and the production quality. Your sound already feels sync-friendly, especially for film and ads
That said, I noticed a few small but critical gaps that could be holding this track, and your catalog, back from actual placements:

~Metadata Optimization -- Your track isn't fully tagged with industry-standard mood, energy, and scene descriptors that music supervisors use when filtering thousands of tracks.
~Sync-Ready Versions -- I didn't see instrumental, clean, or alternate mixes listed -- these are often required for TV/Film licensing consideration.
~Catalog Positioning -- Your profile and releases aren't fully optimized for music discovery algorithms, which means you're likely missing passive opportunities.
The good news is, these are fixable and can significantly improve your chances of playlisting, licensing, and placements.
I help artists turn their music into "one-stop", sync-ready catalogs that are professionally structured and positioned for opportunities.

If you're open, I can run a free quick audit of your Broadjam profile and show you:

• What's missing
• What supervisors typically look for
• How your current tracks can be improved for licensing
No pressure, just useful insight.
