Roceathia's Bio
Roceathia here, I was born in Detroit City, October 8, 1974 to Diane McCarver and Gerald Smith. I am a singer and songwriter. I have written and co-written nearly 60 songs + with my sister Sharell. I am a wife (Henderson), and mother of three (Cornelius, 13, QKashyra, 10, and Kenyadiah, 9). We are living it up in the twin cities.
I am always looking for new music to write to. Poetry is another skill under my belt. Also I draw for self –satisfaction. I love reading, my latest book, “The Woman Warrior”, by Maxine Hong Kingston. I’ve also started writing a few short stories. I am currently studying to get my Associate Degree.
I spent the earlier part of my life in Highland Park, MI, a small city in the middle of Detroit. My father, also known as the “Motor City Meat Dog” was a lead guitar player in our family band (PSCB Purple Silk Club and Band), and please believe me when I say that band was hottest thing smoking. That is where I started my singing career. I wrote my first song “P.S.C.B. Play Along With Me”, when I was eight years old.
Check me out at poetry.com just enter my last and first name, it’s all so cool. You haven’t worked with the greatest talent till you’ve worked with BlackFeva.
