At the age of 15, Jonny Mernagh realized that music could be more than just something to listen to. Seeing his friends in bands and having a blast and the band Oasis on the rise, he realized that music could be fun for him as well. At the age of 18, he was given a guitar as a gift. That's when he started to perform.

Jonny could be found performing solo, or occasionally with a band. For the next 5 years he would wind his way from gig to gig realizing his potential had not yet been reached. The past two years has seen him performing as a solo artist. With the creation of nearly 20 songs, he found himself wanting to create his first album. Delusions of Grandeur would become that album. He wrote and arranged all of the songs and produced the album which allowed him to develop his own unique sound.

The sound Jonny created with Delusions, gave him the confidence to hone his craft and new songs weren't hard to find with his guitar always by his side. The result was Snakes and Ladders, the title of his current project. The inspiration for the title comes from the rise and fall an artist experiences within the music industry, something that every artist can relate to. The ups and downs can make or break any artist; Jonny is not willing to let it break him.

Jonny Mernagh's determination within the industry has led to several accolades. He was a semi finalist with his old band The Metros in the 2006 Band of Britain contest. In May of 2006, his song No Mans Land was included on a compilation disc for up and comers. In February 2006, his song Lost was included on the soundtrack of an independent film in the United States called Strange Isn't It. Every little step Jonny has taken has proven to be successful.

As long as his following albums provide his current and future fans the same satisfaction they have been receiving from him currently, the only way Jonny Mernagh can head in this industry is up. The clean sounds of his guitar and the melodic resonance of his voice will have any head turning in his direction.

When Jonny was asked if he had any advice for up and coming artists, he says to make sure you never pay a cent to anyone who tells you that you'll go far. If the label or individual truly has confidence in you, they won't be worried about making that investment.
