Marc 'MarqA' Ainsworth
Emigrating from the U.K to Canada, Marc 'MarqA' Ainsworth took up the art of Deejaying at the early age of fourteen and launched his career in the small town of Peterborough, Ontario, playing weddings, high school dances, fashion shows and house parties.
In 1993, he landed his first residency at a local bar called BPM and from early 97 to late 99, found himself behind the decks of the cities two most popular nightclubs, The Purple Rooster and Club Vibe.
The years to follow saw Marc fill dance floors throughout The Caribbean, The Mediterranean and places like Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Russia, while filling three contracts for a cruise line company, before returning to Peterborough and taking up residence at the new hot spot, The Junction, from 2003 to 2007. "It all adds to my experience" says Marc.
All of Marc's previous work has had him mixing up every genre of music you can imagine. He's constantly producing his own material, continues to help blend the gap between commercial and underground music at any gig that comes his way (an art within it's self), is currently playing out two nights per week and looking to slip into the booths of the more house oriented clubs.
MarqA placed 10th place in the Rev/Klublife DJ Competition 2006, an event that saw 120 of Canada's DJs battle it out for a chance to go to WMC 06 in Miami.
Marc can be heard Friday nights inside The 2nd Floor Lounge in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada spinning everything under the sun with an emphasis on all things house.
