Born in California, raised in Southern Mississippi. Mark began writing songs in High School that reflected the small town of Hattiesburg, MS. He was front man and songwriter for Mississippi rock bands Eulogy of the Dog, Eulogy, and Opal Dial and recorded 8 independent albums from 1992-2000. It was not uncommon for him to sell his trucks and guitars to pay for pressing some of these albums. After a decade of small results with his rock bands, Mark went in the solo direction around 2001, after he was no longer a member of the band Opal Dial, and began compiling songs for his southern gothic feature album "Cowboy Carnage" which eventually released in 2008. He wrote one song about quitting the band Opal Dial titled “Dreamer”. Crediting persistence and a need to chronicle his life in songs, Mann continues to record and write in Hattiesburg.
