Alternative Ties is a Melodic Rock band formed in the year 2014 by vocalist/lyricist Amit Kiran Dasgupta and his friends. Drawing inspiration from genres like Alternative Rock, Post-Hardcore, and Progressive Rock, the band tends to experiment with their sound by mixing clean melodic vocals with heavy guitars, powerful bass, and hard-hitting drums.

 

Since its inception, the band has performed multiple live shows throughout Bangalore which includes RVCE’s Rocktane Battle, BMSCE’s Utsav and NLSIU’s Strawberry Fields National Music Festival. The band's current line consists of Md. Uvais (guitar, bass, and production) and vocalist Amit Kiran Dasgupta whose lyrics talks about anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, and various struggles of life.
