Hi, I just had a few moments to spare and thought it might be nice to find out more about the Dustbunnies, especially as you had downloaded one of my songs. I am now trying to pull myself together after being very moved by Lament For The Rouse Simmons - just beautiful. It's not a song or a story I know and I just wish there was more info on your page about those involved in recording and producing the song. Everything is top notch but I was particularly taken by the vocalist who managed to portray the story in such a beautifully sensitive way. Thank you. Bob
Hey, Bob. Thanks for the shout out and all. The song was written by a musical partner of mine, Lisa Johnson. The reason for the recording in the first place was to record her song. She played guitar and I performed on the hammered dulcimer. Madison, WI has a great band of regional and local musicians who are busy, but still manage to help each other out. Once I produced that song, and by the time I had the rest of the CD done, she had already recorded half of her own songs for her own recording. We are both, by now, just getting ready to release our second separate recording. We laugh: eventually we'll get around to doing a recording under our duo, "Leafy Greens."
Sounds like a busy environment! Good luck, Bob
Fine music, interesting tunes. I found you by searching for "Rollin' Down To Old Maui," which I heard some years ago on a bay cruise from San Francisco. I'm a contra dancer, too, so my interest may be genetic.
Thanks, Alan, for taking the time to stop and listen. Gillingham Ram was an interesting mix: lyrics that my Grandfather used to sing mixed with those of the Darby Ramshire/Ram that Tommy Makem/Clancy Bros. performed.
I'll follow up those leads when I can, and thank you.
