Where I've been...
Influences range from Andreas Johnson to Hooverphonic and Massive Attack.
'Ambient Pop' has been a genre listeners have linked my compositions with. I always hear the music in my head as a film soundtrack. Hearing it on radio is a compliment yet seeing an image playing out to my composition is a dream come to life.
Raised in Los Angeles and performing with Michael Penn, I made a phone call to his manager one day that "changed everything". Within two weeks I was in Italy performing with Robbie Robertson at the San Remo Song Festival which led to a chance meeting with international supergroup A-ha. By the end of the festival I relocated to London, UK as a percussionist/background vocalist for their 'Stay On These Roads' tour.
A year later, passport stamped-out, I make my way back to LA and promptly move to Milwaukee, Wisconsin as a member of Warner Brothers recording artists Bodeans. Three years later, I find myself in Austin, Texas by way of Los Angeles recording and performing with Sun 60 of Epic Records. Once there, I am welcomed by Charlie Sexton, Shawn Colvin, Patty Griffin, Joe Ely, Kelly Willis, Bruce Robison, Jon Dee Graham, The Flatlanders, Eliza Gilkyson, Bob Schneider, Billy Harvey, Trish Murphy, Robert Rodriguez, Patricia Vonne, Tonio K and Mason Ruffner.
Every songwriter and musician I have had the fortune to perform and work with has brought a positive impact on my desire and abilities as a composer and to them I am forever grateful.
I am also fortunate to have the wonderful support of Drum Workshop, Paiste, Remo, and Vater Percussion in the studio as well as on tour.
And yes, that's me, the voice of Dell Computers Online, NASCAR.com, Southwest Airlines and Kinko's "on-hold", Time-Warner Cable and Toshiba television commercials...check out the video page.
