Mark James Wood
Mark James Wood began performing professionally at the age of eleven and
has virtually grown up on stage. With a repertoire of over 2000 songs, he covers a wide range of popular music styles including Pop, Country, Rock and Standards. He was recently featured in a thirty-minute television special on PBS, performing original music from his two latest CDs, The Lessons of Life and Now That You're Gone.
Mark's guitar playing has been compared with the virtuosity of Leo Kotke and Jimmy Page and his work on the piano adds a unique dimension to his performance that is reminiscent of early Elton John and Billy Joel. With a four octave vocal range and an incredible gift for recreating a variety of singing styles, Mark amazes, as well as entertains his audiences.
Mark has been featured as the opening act for recording artists such as Jimmy Buffett, Bruce Hornsby and the Range, Don McLean, Kenny Rankin and platinum-selling country music star, Sammy Kershaw, just to name a few.
Among many other venues, Mark has headlined shows at the world famous Roxy Theatre and the Whisky on the Sunset Strip and the Coach House Theater in Orange County, California in front of sellout crowds, performing his original songs to rave reviews...
