I am a singer/songwriter in the style of Carly Simon, Stevie Nicks, and Bonnie Raitt, who I grew up listening to. I am a pianist, but don't play when I sing. Most of my songs feature piano and guitar. I have self-released one EP of original songs, "Bridges," which has been favorably reviewed and compared to Fleetwood Mac in their Rumours heyday. I am looking to place my songs on TV or in films, and/or to sell them to up and coming female artists in either country or roots rock. Earlier reviewers from Taxi called my song "Bridges" "absolutely beautiful."
In addition to being a singer/songwriter, I am an actress and voiceover artist, and an award-winning poet and essayist. You can keep up with me on twitter at jfloyd123, or friend me on Facebook at jenniefloyd. I also write a blog, "One Last Shot: My Life as an Over-40 Actor in LA," at http://onelastshot-jenniefloyd.blogspot.com/. Check me out!

Bridges
This piano and string-heavy ballad is basically autobiographical. I did have recurring nightmares about bridges until I climbed the Sydney Harbor Bridge in Australia. I have never had another. Bridges in dreams usually symbolize change or transition. We see this song as a possible Disney musical feature.
You Might Have Been the One
This is my big power ballad a la Celine Dion. It was inspired by a man who told me "you might have been the one" the night before I left Nashville to move to New Jersey.
The Road Not Taken
This song was written about my homesickness after moving to California from my oceanfront home in New Jersey. It was inspired by the cross-country move I made with my then-boyfriend, later husband. We wanted it to have a timeless, road-trip feel.
"Just Friends"
This song was based on two events: a male friend I had who turned into a "boyfriend" for a while, and the parents of my co-writer, who actually married after a similar situation and inscribed their wedding rings with "Just Friends."
"I Don't Need No Prince"
This song, a bluesy rocker featuring honky-tonk style piano, was inspired by a period in my mid-30s when all the men I dated seemed to want to get married after the third date. It is my declaration of independence. Most people compare it to a Bonnie Raitt song.
