Warren I'm totally with you my friend. I stopped paying long ago however I do hope to stay in touch with you and others form BJ because I feel I have made some great friends and mentors through this site. You, John and others have made me so much better at what I do and for that I'm thankful. Positive things have happened here, so there's that. haha
Yes Scott you are correct, and I suppose like one of my songs says, "when god shines his big flashlight, if not half bad I'll be half right..." there's been some positive things here...and I've appreciated you and many more over the years. May dog speed! W
I think when it comes to money you have to treat each album like a business investment. Reserve for the primo membership, reserve for the album getting shopped, and when it's done it's done... back to the free membership we go. Plenty of great things have happened here and well continue to happen surely. The community is solid (most days) and the talent is seeping from its walls. Well worth your time to be a member if you have any love for your craft. Just save the investments for when you're ready. Harness your work, conclude an album, pour over it a thousand times... and then? You're ready to spend a grand. Vi
Thanks for the 5 Star rating for Clone! Cheers Tim
Hey Nate! Hope all is well. Great build on the pinch of love tune sir, dig it ! Stay safe, Warren
Thank you sir!
you're welcome Sincerely Bob Mau
Good to hear these sounds from A! Keep On Truckin! P.
Hey Vi - Thanks for that (necessarily) brutal review. (One Dark Night) Wish you could review all my tunes. Truly appreciate the suggestions that totally make so much sense to me now that I re-listen. Sometimes it takes another pair of ears.... Onward and Upward! Cheers!
I'm glad the information was well received. Remember.... There is no such thing as a bad way to self express. Just better ways to present that. Good luck, creator bless. Vi
He Pat, happy belated Easter. Just wanted to stop in, thank you for your time regarding a review of Thin Skinned, and follow up with "I have never taken any lessons.... I just compose." Could never afford them. Anyhow, hope all is well and thank you again! Vi protilius@gmail.com
I have always loved your music! Why does no one in here ever talk about the story behind the song? I have always thought it was important...malin...
I try to, but sometimes its best to tell the story inside the music itself, leave room for interpretation. You see, if you make a sad song, and leave that "reason for being" line empty? Anyone who's sad over any reason can enjoy it and apply it to their life. If you state clearly your sad song is about the cancelation of your favourite TV show? Then less people will gravitate to it or even check it out. Funny how that works.... Its the same song. Vi
Fabulous music. All of it! The production is superb. The creativity is top shelf...malin
Thank you for listening... I'll be dropping an album on this network shortly. Hope you choose to check it out. Stay safe, have a good one. Vi
Hey Nate, great work on System Breach, your timing ability "in and out" of the various elements of the piece is impeccable, and though I won't pretend to know this style of composition, I can appreciate that the amount of work to make it that perfect had to be painstaking...and yes, I enjoyed it! keep on brother, I hope all is well down under! Warren
About 9 days... poking it with the proverbial stick. Still not my best work, but a cool idea worth exploring regardless. Sometimes it's not even about the notes played, just how they're payed Glad you stopped in. Hope you're still writing and have found a few publishers for your work. Always a pleasure... perhaps we'll bump into one another in the rebranded icon contest. Vi
Cheers on the review of "Never forget me." My wife and I lost one before birth... this was my way of grieving. Glad you enjoyed it. Vi
So sorry to hear that, Vi...
It's old news, but the story turns an eye of anyone that's been through it, thankfully the good lord gave us three children all in. We're grateful. Twin girls and a stunning little man. Couldn't possibly ask for any more responsibility at this point, lol. Struggling with what we have already. Thanks again for your time. Vi
Be happy with all you have!
Cheers on the review of Rage of the lemming, an oldie but a goody. Appreciate your thoughts surly. Vi
Cheers on the review of my work on Dreamatorium... possibly my favourite client work to date. All three albums were something of an ode to atmospheric commercial takes on the edm genre. Great stuff. I encourage you to swing by and explore the albums. You might find a new album or two to fall asleep to. Vi
No problem , It was a pleasure to hear your track I'll check the albums
Nathan, thank you for the thoughtful and flattering review on "Where do we go from here's" demo. It's funny you'd review this one today... I'm currently polishing up a version with a more professional vocalist. Female even. Figured I had the male side covered. Trent... yes. Or should I say Micheal? lol. Yes... he was a pretty big influence. I was around when he dropped Pretty Hate Machine and it truely revolutionised rock/pop in the darkest awesome possible. Then of course Stone Temple and Pearl Jam showed up and we were all spun out by the time Smashing Pumpkins was affirming our fears of being Rats in a Cage. Gosh... Mel Gibson with even universally loved back then. By the time he did Downward Spiral? I was already an avid fan. So the idea that I sound like him is why I use the vocoder to disguise my naturally NIN'ish style. You think this stuff is bad? Try out the album Solutions in Anarchy. You'll question if it's not some kind of "lost tapes" from before Downward. Nah... I've tried to beat it. It gets me every time though. We just have the same way of delivering passion I guess. Out of tune and full of bite. Hope to see you connect, maybe swing by, check out our new and old work alike. Best: Vi
Here you go... N'Joy https://www.broadjam.com/songs/prot ilius/broken-machine-rarified-expli cit-2009
Looks like the link got spaced there. Just search "Broken Machine" on Broadjam...
Vi, you are doing some really cool stuff. I just randomly reviewed your song "Destiny", of course not knowing it was you. I was super-impressed. I feel like I've made a discovery :)
I actually won the annual song writing contest here with that one in the demo. It was a solid demo...
It was very deserving :)
Enjoying the new interface... Vi
I appreciate your support
I dig the Into your eyes track... But Ithink you should find a couple with chemistry and film the. fora day. 6
Thanks very much Vi:-) and I appreciate your suggestion. jay
Sorry Jay, didn't realise auto correct killed me, I think you should find a couple of actors with chemistry, tell a "meeting and falling in love" story by following the two around for a day and collecting footage. Walks on the beach, meals, social gathering they're simply not interested in other people, have it culminate with them hooking up and cuddling on a seaside porch or something. There'll be costs, but it's something I could script and direct if ever challenged to do so. Just ideas... Good music though. 6
Thanks very much Vi. I appreciate your suggestions. And, so glad you like the music. I'll bet your kids are exploding with enthusiasm over Santa coming to their home real soon! Three cheers for Christmas!
They're spoiled rotten:) Hope you're surrounded by love and light Jay. 6
And well they should be! Little angels, every one! And thank you, yes, I am surrounded by love and light every day. Life is good, my brother.
Nice! Looking forward to the release
Stop in to enjoy my latest raging industrial jazz fusion production... Smash and grab. It's a wonderful demonstration of not only electronic excellence... in cyberpunk fashion kind you, but.... a wonderful ode to the ole Casino Heist. I keep thinking 3000 Miles from graceland. Such a great flick. Hope this one gets a movie like that. 6
Thank You my partner in crime for your unwavering support and kind words. You 5* on Annie means a lot. For me and the person you know about.
It's a beautiful composition - besides, us criminals need to stick together :>)
A promise made has to be fulfilled
Did somebody say 5 without checking their spelling? Peter... are you (looks both ways) 5? (slaps knee.) Hope you both are well... And more to the point, get your project polished as it should be... 6
Thanks Nathaniel
We should skype/facetime at some point. Hope you've been well Warren. 6
You still singing? 6
damn well done Nate, of course I would LOVE to hear this with a straight vocal, the lyrics are stellar sir, "living life through memory"...is...well...MEMORABLE! Straight vocal and IMO you have a "hit" whatever that is nowadays...kudos W
What a wonderful thing to hear. Thank you sir, it means a lot to me that you're listening. 6
loved it sir!!!!! hope you are safe and sound, onward... warren
Your wish is granted sir. Hopefully Mr.Blade will satisfy that yearning my friend. Take it easy brother. 6
Good day Viktoria, My name is Nathaniel, I work in soundtracks, trailers, edm, and dabble in blues/jazz. I've won a few awards with my work, no Grammies yet, but I suspect if I had a voice like yours on a few productions? That could change... (smiles.) I might need you to leave your comfort zone, but I think I can do great things with your skill set. Right now I've got a couple projects that I'm cooking up. One in particular I think you could nail. My email is protilius@gmail.com. Please reach out. I would love an opportunity to make some art, or even better, some money with you. Swing by, browse, you'll find my instrumentals and production skills are top notch, which is nothing less than you deserve surely. Let me know, it would be an honour to serve. 6
You have a great sound and who is marketing your projects because you need to be heard.
I currently have no agent, lawyer, or marketing team. My twenties and the first half of my thirties were pretty rockstar and I was unapproachable in many ways. I've since become a father, drink significantly less, and am much more focused on legacy than I used to be. I do work hard, but it's mostly for myself these days... the publishers tend to come later. I get all of my engineering clients through word of mouth. I get all my scoring gigs through word of mouth. I get all my "gigs" through word of mouth. It would be nice... to see that change. Alas... An autistic 8 year old boy and twin 6 year old girls keep me running. I need a team. Just don't find myself in much the position to pay for contracts, lawyer fees, a publishing company... etc. In music... You need to have money to make it. I come from poverty. Married into the middle class. Now all the money goes to the benefit of my children. Good thing I'm a skilled laborer with world class skills eh? Take it easy... Vi
I would love access to your vocalist... I need a demo tracked, no pay, equal splits on the master she participates on and performing rights registration as the performer. "Where do we go from here?" Let me know... I'll shoot the instrumental off today if you're interested. 6
An email is on the way
You look like a dream I had once... interested in collaboration? 6
no plans for now, perhaps another time.
comment test
It works. It will stay on your wall until deleted as well. As you accumulate a network, you will be able to browse comments in a similar way as a facebook wall. The more connections you have? The more conversations there will be to had. Hope it is useful. 6
Thank you for the privilege of your time today sir, best to you and yours. 6
My pleasure. Ronald
Solid observations in your review. The story goes like this... A man lives a tortured life, finds hope in his children, but not before killing himself with alcoholism. Before dying... he leaves one final piece of wisdom for his children. "You are kings and queens, rulers of all, so fly." Thank you for your time today. Stay safe! 6
Heh, thank you for taking the time. Yeah, 5am headphone mixes tend to suck the life out of your dynamics, I should have taken the time to run it through the Genelecs before posting, looks like my excitement got the better of me. Hope you are well, stay safe! 6
Don't worry about it... Old Testament Gustav is more interested in burning witches and warlocks than understanding them. It is unfortunate that he chooses to hold public executions frequently. It is even more unfortunate that I lack the control & temperance to "shrug" his hostile insinuations off as I should. His business with V is his own. I am not the one who insists on bringing up a subject he knows so little about. It is not something I like to discuss. I honour my mentors memory by playing the roll he asked of me. Why this is even a discussion is beyond me. Yet he will not let it die. Regardless, I felt my soul sink a bit when I watched a seemingly complete stranger nuke everything he doesn't know about me... And act like that is acceptable behaviour in a public forum. I wish him all the best.. and encourage he seek out peace of mind by sticking to his art, his passions, and choose to not destroy the hard work of others, or their dreams... No. We build people up. We heal. We create.... We don't do public hitjobs over a beef with a man that's been dead for half a decade. No... Sorry. I will do better. You deserve better. 6
Nothing but well wishes to both of you. :)
And see... another witch burning not even a day later. It's no wonder the good lord intends to end the world in fire... He can see clearly how much we love it. Creator bless, stay safe. 6
