Hi Eddie, I see Rising Star Network reached out to you. They did to me also. I am wondering what your impression is of what they are offering?

Be cautious of all of these offers! Don't give up your rights to your music. Myself I'm not looking for a record deal. I own a recording studio and I have been signed with Atlantic Records. Smaller companies will be worse due to lack of money to promote you. I haven't looked into Rising Star, but I will let you know soon about them. Thanks Randall!

Thank you for your reply At first I thought they were really interested in my music because they complemented it but then when I went to sign up on their link I noticed I had to pay And I also noticed they connected with a few other people on broad jam so I'm thinking they are collecting money for what they're doing When I signed up for the radio play it was like $30 but then after I sign up they sent me another thing offering me some other promotion to sign up for to further promote my music So it seems like they are blanket sending people these offers

Thanks Randall, I one a contest in 1983 for Miller High Life Rock to Riches Contest. I took first place beating out 35,000 entries nation wide. I won $30,000 worth of Ramsa Pa equipment, and a record release on Atlantic records with a major producer to mix it down. I had Jack Douglas who produced John Lennon's Double Fantasy Album, produce my record. John Bon Jovi was in the contest with his song "Run away". He forfeited due to get signed with a labor before the contest ended. It was fun, but nothing ever came out of it. We got a lot of great promotion, and I did a lot of gigs. But here I am, still messing around in the music business. It is about as hard as winning the lottery! lol! There really isn't to many opportunities on Broadjam without paying out some cash to somebody else to profit from. This is the business that we are in. Enjoy it, before they won't allow us to play music anymore. It sure isn't like the old days back in the seventies. Many gigs, and lots of money to be made. Good luck!

Hey Eddie, great stuff, your songs! I gave a couple of yours 5 stars, have not listened to them all. I really love "Devil In Disguise" ! Awesome old school rock, fantastic production. I am guessing live band and musicians? Sounds so much better than some other stuff that is produced with synthetic instruments.

I am a pretty newby song writer, stumbled on to writing songs by chance, not a life long musician at all. I agree seems to be rough going to make any money with music. I got a few placements but was podcasts and a non paying Coronavirus TV Showcase on a christian network, which I appreciated nonetheless. I guess it is all about for the love of music and if we get $ or recognition, is a bonus!

Hi Randall, thank you for the 5 stars review. I have been playing music all my life at clubs, bars, basements, weddings, and many, many, concerts. I've have performed with to many major artists to announce. It is a lot of fun performing live in concert. Nothing is better then playing in front of thousands of fans. I have made a lot of money playing music. But the times have changed, and so has the music, and the technology. So, these kids today really are just copying sections of a song and adding new ideas to it, calling it there own. B.S. Being a musician takes years of practice to prefect. It is a art that is individual to the ability of the person playing it. You have to earn it if you really want to get involve in creating music. There is a lot more to creating music than learning one instrument. Writing is an art too! It is different than playing a guitar, and singing copy songs. I have writing and performed on hundreds of original material created by me, and other artists. That is where my heart is at! Creating music. I have written music for many other artists, and I still do. Plus I work on many other creative artists materials. Just keep learning how to play your instrument as good as you can. Then, become original. Write your own material, than record it, and put it out into the world to listen too, just like the rest of us are doing. It is all about the fun of it, not the cash. I don't write my music thinking about how rich a song can make me. That's not writing music. It would be nice, but I don't count on it. I just enjoy writing, and creating music that other people who may listen to my music might appreciate it like you do. I am not looking to go out on the road again to chase the money to pay my bill, by touring. It is extremely rare that anyone really makes any money on the road. Especially with all the expenses on the road, managers, agents, roadies, hotels, gas, food, trucks, etc. Many expenses, and you are the last person to get paid after everyone else. We made $2500.00 a night, and I only took home $50.00 after expenses. Even if you have a number one hit, it don't mean you will be in the big bucks, due to your contracts with your label. I have had a lot of fun, but also a lot of hards times. I'm content just taking home and writing my music. Thanks for listening Randell. Good luck, brother!

Thank you Eddie for your heartfelt and honest assessment of the music art and business. You have shared a lifetime of wisdom with me, which I appreciate. Kind of reconfirms what I thought, but I did not know that the new artists and kids are taking parts of old songs and making it "their own". Does not surprise me though. Much has changed in this world for the worse, not just in the music sector. Technology is definitely a double edged sword.
I am sure you would agree.

Hey maybe good idea for a song "Double Edged Sword"

Corey's, Good to hear from you. Not really! I think there is a left wing, and a right wing attached to the same bird called the Government. So, both sides fly together. I guarantee you, that they golf together! Lol!

I had my CD manufacturer by CD Baby years ago. I sold a lot of them mainly at the concerts that I was performing at. I made my money back on the cost of the CD's but I didn't get rich from them. Lol! But, I like it that people are listening to my material.
