I Went Ahead and Said, 'Stop'!

Published on Aug 23, 2014 One of my songs that juxtaposes a wispy verse with a funky chorus. An example influenced by songs like "Ten Years Gone", and "What is and what should never Be", by Led Zeppelin I awoke to a day devoid of sunshine And the clouds were filled with pain instead of rain I awoke by my eyes they could not see The joy and happiness that surrounds me And my ears they could not hear the sounds and voices of those whom I hold dear So, I went ahead and said, "stop!" Why don'tcha go on and take a look around I went ahead and said, "stop!" Why don'tcha go on tell me what you see There's so many things I've gotta do So many things I've gotta try So many places I've yet to go Places to see before I die So many people I've yet to meet Unanswered questions still ask me why None of it really matters...oh no The answer is right before my eyes So, I went ahead and said, "stop!" Why don'tcha go on tell me what you see You can't lose what you ain't got You can't miss what you ain't had You can want what you ain't earned But you can't know what you ain't learned It's a real tragedy when you have things that you can't see And you worry about yourself instead of helping somebody else So, I went ahead and said, "stop!"
