Acclaimed indie-folk singer-songwriter Sam Ness announces the release of his new single "Slotty Road," a reflective and cinematic track that serves as the first glimpse into his upcoming album, Of Heart and Home.
Written after returning briefly to his hometown, "Slotty Road" captures the feeling of seeing familiar places through changed eyes. The song traces the bittersweet space between nostalgia and growth -- a recurring thread woven throughout the new record.
"The album traces the last decade I've spent on the road, often living out of whatever vehicle I happened to call home at the time," says Ness. "It wanders through the highs and lows of loving people from a distance -- friendships, romances, and all the in-betweens. On a recent pass through my hometown, I slowed down long enough to notice how much had changed since I left, and how much of me was still tangled up there. That feeling became this song, named after a spot I've known since I was a kid: Slotty Road."
Fueled by warm acoustic textures and intimate storytelling, "Slotty Road" highlights Ness's signature mix of heartfelt lyricism and cinematic atmosphere. His music -- born from years spent traveling the U.S. and abroad -- reflects both movement and belonging, inviting listeners into deeply personal yet universally resonant moments.
Of Heart and Home continues that journey, chronicling years spent touring, sleeping in vans and borrowed rooms, and learning what it means to carry a sense of home within yourself.
"Slotty Road" will be available on all major streaming platforms February 3rd, 2026.
