RATTLE THOSE CHAINS

Rattle Those Chains expresses frustration about restrictions and constraints inflicted upon individuals by modern society. The verses take aim at the establishment - like giving a badly-behaved dog a short sharp clip around the ear with a rolled up newspaper. The pre-chorus laments the fact that the majority of us are either struggling to keep our heads above water or have succumbed to financial ruin by soulless institutions; it is a fitting start to the album. The chorus conjures up an image of an inmate locked up in their cell crying out in pain only to realise that there is nothing that they can do but "rattle those chains".
