Steve Mayone Bio
Steve Mayone is a songwriter living in Somerville, Massachusetts. Most recently Steve contributed the theme to the cable show Calling All Dogs and has a song, "I'll Be Alright", featured in First Time Long Time, a film starring John Savage, Amanda Plummer and Karen Black (2009). Past songs placed in the independent film Still Green include "Pocketful of Promises" and "Hour of the Pearl" which were described by Mark Doty as having the "music of a blockbuster film." Steve contributed music to the film Last Stop for Paul (2007), which won 45 International Festival Awards. Steve has also been busy as guitarist and vocalist with Bow Thayer. The band's new CD was recorded in Levon Helm's barn in Woodstock, New York where they joined Levon for several of his Midnight Ramble Concerts. Steve continues to receive excellent reviews: Americana UK called Mayone "a master songsmith," while Miles of Music says, "Mayone ties up all of Americana, folk, classic and roots-rock, effortlessly flowing from one to the next and never at a loss for interest." Steve has also toured Europe and the States as a solo artist and with Kris Delmhorst, Todd Thibaud and Alicia Corbett. To add to his previous releases Bedroom Rockstar, Unfortunate Son and Understories, Steve is presently finishing his fourth CD, entitled Long Play Record, which will be released in March 2009 on the legendary Cambridge label Hi-n-Dry. .................
