Story Behind The Song
An interest in a man that would call one day and then wouldn't call for a week after spending a weekend together resulted in this particular tune. "You speak in words, but you speak in rhymes" alludes to that feeling of frustration and uncertainty on where feelings lie, but still....the excitement that comes with hope that love could come out of this.
Song Description
Interpretation of ones' words, gestures, feelings and alluding to the simplicity that comes later. Distinguishing between what a person says versus what he/she does when he/she may not be ready for the next step. The "settling down" of the roller coaster when love it left to be love.

Lyrics
Give me my wings tonight, I might not fly
Give me a voice tonight, I might just sing
Give me your lips tonight, I'll kiss you back
In your arms tonight, and I won't run
Tangled in sheets tonight, don't speak those words
On your own tonight, might think you've heard it
Played on the radio, before you wrote it
Singing someone else to sleep
Yeah you speak in words
But you speak in rhymes
and it's careless
Sooner or later love
We'll settle in for good
And I'll keep the lines that you forget
I know what lies behind your well-kept thoughts
I know what makes you tick
You're still waiting for an angel to help you out of this
What about me?
Yeah you speak in words
But you speak in rhymes
and it's careless
I was racing to reach it
Counting my days
Cause I take it all to heart
Settle down love
Settle down love
Settle down love
Yeah you speak in rhymes
But you speak in words
And I've heard worse
I've heard worse
