Story Behind The Song
I wrote this letter to my wife one nite from a tent in Kuwait, but everything I write it ends up being a song.
Song Description
This started out as a letter to my wife back home. It sounded so good after I finished it I decided to turn it into a song, never thinking that ten years later we'ed be back over in the same country.

Lyrics
Friday nite i was headed home,
I had a hard day out at the base.
Maybe I'll stop by rutty's and grab a beer
or stop by the PX and grab a case.
when I get home the phone rings.
Uncle Sam is on the other line.
Saying boy you gotta get your stuff together,
come on stop wasting time.
Now I'm here working for the Home of the brave
So I grab my bags and I kiss my girl.
I told her i'll be back when the job was done.
Then we set around til we got the word.
the captian said boys and girls let go have some fun.
Now I'm over here in a forgin land
tryin to stop the ways of some crazy men.
I got my weapon right by my side,
and my red, white, and blue is flying way up high.
I'm here working for the home of the brave
This is war, this is war this is war
One day I'll be home again.
gonna have some of mom's apple pie
Gonna hang out with my boys down on the block.
Watch all the cuties walk on by.
Right now i'm livin life day by day.
lookin at dust storms and eating sand.
And I wouldn't have it no other way.
cause I'm a grade A USA fighting man.
I'm here working for the Home of the brave.
