Song Description

About a child that had lost his parents in an automobile accident and was left homeless. Also about a man that had no children and had always wanted children. He came upon the child one night and finally adopted the child and raised him as his own.

LONELY CHILD

VRS: 1. I was living all alone, I had no children of my own, I would pray, that someday, I would have a child. Then I was walking down the streets, one night, underneath the moon lit sky, I came upon a little child. He looked at me then turned away, he bowed his head began to pray, I couldn?t pull myself away, I had to hear him pray, he said God, I?m just a homeless child, I?ve been homeless for a while, I never thought that life, would turn out this way.

VRS: 2. Then the silence, over took his lips then the tears began to drip, I knew his heart was breaking but, I had no answers why, So I stayed around, a little while, hoping I could help this child, he slowly turned, and looked at me, and this is what she said, Not so very long ago, the good lord took the parents I loved, It happened late one rainy night, the wreck was such an awful sight, You see this man, had been out drinking, he was driving, and not thinking,

VRS: 3. They never saw him coming when, he crossed that center line, Again the silence over took his lips, again the tears began to drip, I knew he had no place to call home, so she took him and embraced him made some preparations, I took him in and raised him as my own. I?m so glad I walked the streets that night, underneath the moon lit sky, yes that?s the night, that God sent me my child.
