Story Behind The Song
In 2009 Alicia Keys and Jay Z performed a new song called Empire State of Mind that paid tribute to New York. Well, my Dad said that I should write a song about L.A. Mind you, for years the official song for L.A. had been Randy Newman's "I Love L.A." However, I felt the city needed something that reflected the present day Los Angeles and therefore came up with my own tribute.
