How Can This Be

Story Behind The Song

i wanted to write a song about a girls struggle through life. put her in the worst home and financia situation possible but left like this she would die so i had to give her tols to overcome this problem and what better tools than tallent and hope this was the basis of this song, "how far can a person with tallent and hope really go"?

Song Description

the song is a jurney through a young girls life from the age of five. It is told from an outsiders point of view. As the song progresses there is one repetative line which sums the song up "please dear lord tell me now how can this be". That is a powerfull statement on its own in my opinion. As the girl grows she is given and takes every chance to shine, she becomes a star and a mother able to offer her children a life she never had. her fame grows as she becomes a super star and a grand mother she reflects on how far she has come. the thurd person teling the story has watched her growth and takes pride in now being able to call her a LADY at last..

Introduction:

(I see?I see) This is a story about a little girl who grew up to be?. very successful.

Chorus: (Female Voice)

Please dear lord tell me now how can this be (whoooa)

Verse 1:

Met a little girl about five years old
Had dreams of fame here?s how the story unfolds.
She was a bold little lady always singing her dreams
Hoping she could move to a place that seems.
A little bit more stable where love aint a chore
The ambitions of a child seem so pure.
When your poor all you have is hope to survive
I?m proud of her drive coz the girl is alive (sing).

Chorus:

Verse 2:

The girl is now ten years old and yes
She started doing stage shows winning contests.
Got a little press for a gig up in her school
Everyone?s silent while she?s singing her tune.
Right then I knew that this girl was blessed
She had the voice it stood apart from the rest.
Yes she?s got talent aint no way to deny
I know she?s gunner make it you can see in her eyes (see).

Chorus:

Verse 3:

A slave in her own home nobody cares
She?s fifteen years old lonely and scared.
ever since her momma started hitting drink all the time
Step dad is in the back elevating his mind.
She found herself holding on to a little note pad
managing to write down dreams she had.
I see the girls got talent but her hearts not free
Please dear lord tell me how can this be (tell me).

Chorus:

Verse 4:

She?s what is called a woman now twenty years old
Got a part time job still living at home.
Looking after her father and mommas long dead
This isn?t the way that I had wanted her to live.
With the talent she could offer the world it aint fair
Looking at me strangely like I shouldn?t care.
But listen here it is rare to come across a good girl
Who fought against the odds now on top of the world.
The girl?s demos on the radio getting air play
Touching women who are living their life the same way.
(How can this be?.)
How can it be that she sees nothing but anarchy
Life the same way what a tragedy.
Mad at me? I speak about calamity
All I ever wanted was a peace of normality.
Now you see where I?m coming from when I say
The world is yours but girl you have to pray (talk with me now).
In god you trust I know he trust?s you
Your gunner be singing his praise when ya through (talk to him now).

Chorus:

Verse 5:

Twenty-five years old married had her first kid
Living off the success of her first hit.
The baby love her now a mother of another girl
Two kids with stability brought to the world.
Working long hours just to make her second LP
I said that she would make it coz she made it like me.
And now the kids smile proud mommies on the T.V.
To have a dream?s hard but she?s living that dream (look).

Chorus:

Verse 6:

Five years later now she?s thirty years old
Second album went platinum third album still gold.
All her hopes of a white picket fence came true
It?s crazy just to hear all the things she?s went through.
In the prime of her life now doing world tours
Fans fill halls with a round of applause.
When she?s out she?s a big star on T.V.
But when she?s at home she?s just a sister to me (baby sis).

Chorus:
Verse 7:

Fifty years old your career has wound down
A selling living legend and a grand momma now.
Looking at the little face of ya grand child
Welling up with pride when the little boy smiled.
You?ve been tried and tested all your life no doubt
You walked through hell but you made it back out.
I know when you were younger had to learn to grow fast
I?m proud of you girl now a lady at last (peace).

Chorus:

Hope you enjoyed the story kids keep dreaming?
