Story Behind The Song
This song developed out of a children's musical I've been writing. It will be performed by a Bronx public junior high school in Spring '06.

Lyrics
If Only If Only
The Captain complains
all that dry land could dance like the waves
as his ship pulls away, ever so slowly
If they could be one and the same,
If only
If Only If Only
The churchbell rings, it could be understood all the words that I sing
By those who pray down below, muttering lowly
If we could just have some more,
If Only
If Only If Only
The apple declares, I could be loved like a beautiful pear
While it's plucked from the tree, by a coyote
If I could just be a pear
If Only
If Only
