Story Behind The Song
It may have been addressed to me, I don't really know, however I wrote the melody based on the late Bert Janshe's 'Angie'. The guy who wrote the lyrics had definitely encountered this problem in real life.
Song Description
It's basically about the dilemma of a gay person 'coming out' to his or her 'straight' friend.

Lyrics
Secrets
I need to ask a question, but I'm scared of your reply
It might just lose our friendship, a fact I can't deny
You've always been good to me and I've been there for you
But if you turn your back now, I don't know what I would do
CHORUS: Secrets, everybody has secrets
Secrets, why so many secrets?
Secrets, you must know mine.
I feel my heart is aching, so who said, "The truth is best".
No way is this the right way, I'm mucking up this test
CHORUS
With my heart in my mouth I, I wait for your attack
I tell you my big secret and you just turn your back
CHORUS
You slowly turn to face me, you gotta a smile upon your face
You say you've known forever, we shrug and then embrace
CHORUS
You must know my big secret.
