Story Behind The Song
I was sitting in a coffee house on central avenue, paying bills and eating lunch. It was a summer day and I remember staring out the glassed in window and staring at the powerlines that seemed to be everywhere. I wrote the song on an envelope in about 20 minutes. Drove straight home being careful not to hear any music along the way so I wouldn't forget the melody. Something about a first cup of coffee in the afternoon provides great inspiration for me. lyrically its one of my favorites. I still remember the high I had writing it. Very memorable for me

Lyrics
I shared my soul with the young and the wicked
Chasing dreams of fool's gold
I drove my car into the gutter
On a long and winding road
The Days go on and on and on
And I always feel alone
There's a kiss that's floatin in the breeze
Leading me to my home
I borrowed 30 grand to invest in my future
But we all know Murphy's law
I whispered sweet nothings to a lonely stranger
Who was hitch-hiking along the same road
The Days go on and on and on
But I always feel the same
The world keeps changing and I keep living
And everyone loves the game
Chorus I wrote a letter and sent it away
Thinking I was Bullet proof
I won't hesitate to feel the same way
Even though I'm getting used
I'm not afraid to throw it away
If that's what I should do
Cause I'm going for broke on every corner
Like I got nothing to lose
I had lunch with a Redempted Sinner
Who said I should play it safe
So I took a book of matches and lit em one by one
And threw them at his face
The days go on and on and on
All I've missed is a masquerade
Either play em or don't
Cause you can't take em, with you to your grave
