Story Behind The Song
My father once told me that when he died, he didn't want worms to eat him, therefore wanted to be cremated. That always stuck in my head. That thought, combined with various places I've travelled, gelled into this song.
Song Description
Acoustic guitar, electric bass, piano, organ, drums. Inspired in part by the harmonies of the Beach Boys, the songwriting of Ryan Adams and The Stills, with a little Dave Grohl in there somewhere.

Lyrics
Scatter my ashes off the coast of California
Take a rental car down highway one
Find a rocky cove where the surfers rove
Leave me floating there in the California sun
Scatter my ashes off the white cliffs of Dover
Through Cambridge, Portsmouth and Norwich to the sea
Take a double-decker coach
From London to the coast
Leave me floating on a breeze of irrationality
CHORUS
'Cause I'm scattered (scattered, scattered)
I'm scattered
(scattered, scattered)
So scattered from day to day
May as well end up that way
I'd be flattered if you'd leave me scattered...
Scatter my ashes in Holyhead at 2:15
Near the ferry port, or in Dublin, or in between
Though Belfast would be nice
It fades to grey at night
So in North Wales scatter me into the ferry gasoline.
