Story Behind The Song
After my dad died I started writing an inversion of "I'll be Home for Christmas." My dad was a fun, happy guy, so I wanted it to be a fun, happy song. I originally targeted this as an acoustic, bluesy country song for the guitar, but soon switched to piano and started asking myself what Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald would do with it. As one might expect, we're sliding in a little between genres, but we like what we came up with.

Lyrics
It won't be Christmas without you
The other stuff is not enough for me
It won't be Christmas without you
So cancel all your other plans
Drop whatever's in your hands
and plant yourself right under my Christmas tree
I've got twinkle lights on a furry tree
Jesus in my nativity scene
And Santa Claus knows what I want for Christmas
There's an eggnog carton in the fridge
Candy canes for my smiley kids
You are all that's missing
You are all that's missing
