Story Behind The Song

Until recently, I was looking after my mother as a full time carer, for over 5 years. She had dementia and at the end she couldn't speak and had no idea who I was. I had no carer training and found it tough mentally and physically over the years. But I didn't mind, as I was only doing for her what she would have done for me.

This song is about looking after someone with advanced dementia. Often the carer is often thrust into a situation that he or she is not prepared for and trying to do the best they can for someone they love.
