Mighty Fine Road

Story Behind The Song

Recently I was driving on Old Orchard Road just north of my home in Chicago when this ?road trip? song popped into my head. By the time I arrived at my music workshop, the song was finished and I taught it to a group of generous and enthusiastic preschool teachers. Try it with your own street name to help young ones remember where they live!

Lyrics

Mighty Fine Road
Old Orchard Road is a mighty fine road, and a mighty fine road is it
It curves to the left and bends to the right, it makes for a mighty fine trip.
Away, away, away, away, away, away, away!
Away, away, away, away, away, away, away!

All roads lead to some place, and one place is my place.
If you take the road to my place, chances are that we'll be friends, oh, ohh.
