Story Behind The Song
Inspired by a woman with whom I was involved for many years. She eventually revealed a sad and sick soul/heart and it began making my own heart/soul sick. She's a loving being who simply wants to be happy, but this is buried somewhere far beneath a very dark psychological disfunction (sociopathic).
Song Description
Personifies "Love" as a downtrodden "9 to 5" type worker who is tired of trying, tired of crying and somedays feels like she's slowly dying.

Lyrics
Love came home, red in her eyes; hung up her coat and let out a sigh. A shadow fell down to my feet. I asked her soul "Are you still incomplete?...like a flame burning low, or hands letting go?"
She's tired of trying, she's tired of crying. Some days she feels like she's slowly dying. And maybe for now we'll just lay down.
Love left home without saying goodbye. Drove off alone, one more day, one more try. The sound of the silence ripped through the air. Whispers of promise when time finally tears, like an old man alone who's lost his way home.
She's tired of trying, she's tired of crying. Some days she feels like she's slowly dying. And maybe for now we'll just lay down.
I saw in her eyes something I'd seen perhaps in a movie or maybe a dream: a flame burning bright or hands holding tight.
She's tired of trying, she's tired of crying. Some days she feels like she's slowly dying. And maybe for now we'll just lay down.
