Lyrics
I thought the earth had been painted blue
I couldn?t help but watch the news
I never felt so much like crying, seeing all those people dying
I never felt so helpless in my life
I thought the earth had been painted red
When all the anger filled my head
Our way of life had all been busted, and looking all around for justice
I wanted somehow just to make things right, so right
I thought the earth had been painted white
With all those martyrs bathed in light
The life they knew on earth was ending, pain set free and souls ascending
Destined for a better, higher ground
And then the earth turned red, white, and blue
Hymns were sung, and eagles flew
Flags were flown from all directions, prayers were offered, then collections
For once the world was singing with one voice
