I think the lyrics are very heartfelt and it would connect with a lot of people. The recording in general sounds very warm which works well with the subject matter.

Everyone here at home ought to hear it and remember to pray for our troops who can't be home with their families for Christmas. Seriously, there ought to be a youtube of this song. You'll have the whole world bawling that watches it. This song is perfectly written. Simple tune, simple structure, hard-hitting lyrics in a gentle, poignant way. Kinda zaps ya right in the heart, the way an excellent song should. If a soldier actually wrote and performed it, thank you. If someone wrote it from a soldier's perspective, well done. I loved all the verses and the word pictures. Can't say enough good things about it.
