Story Behind The Song
The lyrics and music in the verses are by friend Michael Koppelman. I added the chorus words and melody. I was living in Minneapolis for 4 years, collaborating with Mike. This song came about after I had moved back to Boston and was living in a home with a studio. He sent me the idea via an MP3, and I took it and ran with it. It's the opening song of my CD Bedroom Rockstar. I think it's happiest sad song ever written.
Song Description
A sad story with a pretty melody: here's a guy (or gal) who's facing the inevitable; they can't control someone. All they can do is put all their "cards on the table" in hopes that the other person decides to come back on their own. The narrator is in a kind of limbo, waiting for something to end or begin.

Lyrics
I am not able to talk about it
I am not stable if I think about it
my cards are on the table and I'm losing
I am not willing to forget about it
but I am killing can I live without it?
my heart is on the table and I'm losing
I am losing
I am losing
I am unraveled and unmoved
I am forever in a black mood
my heart is broken and I don't know what I'm doing
I am losing
I am losing
I'm losing everything
the very heart of spring
the love you use to bring
it's all over now
it's all over now
I am unraveled and unmoved
I am forever in a black mood
my heart is broken and I don't know what I'm doing
I am losing
I am losing
I'm losing everything
the very heart of spring
the love you use to bring
I'm losing everything
the very heart of spring
the love you use to bring
it's all over now
it's all over now
