Lyrics
Not Done Yet
Jesus, I'm not done yet, let me hear your words again.
You know I love you, Jesus, but now and then
I get myself in trouble with words of love guidin' my way.
I mix the words that you said with words I freely say.
Jesus, if you will, remove this cup from me.
One of our sweet sisters is tryin' to save me.
She romances me at night, entrances all my dreams,
dances 'round my wrong & right, my how it is & how it seems,
she makes me go to work and fill her pockets up with cash,
wakes me up to go to church on my only day of rest.
I thought you saved me, Jesus, but she says I'm not done.
If she's right, tell me Jesus. I am one confused son.
My mid-life adventure was goin' along just fine
'til I showed this sister my heart & soul & mind.
She started sayin' we need a higher love,
to give up our old ways and take a vow to God above.
Jesus, if you will, send a message down my way.
This sweet sister is causin' me to pray.
Forgive me, Jesus, for not knowin' what to do,
but Solomon and you must have met a girl or two
like this. She leaves me prayin' for wisdom from above,
to keep from goin' astray in these worldly ways of love.
I'm not done yet, Jesus, please tell me what to do with the
mortal magic in our sister's eyes, and the sacred love in her disguise
Jesus, I'm not done yet, let me hear your words again.
You know I love you, Jesus, but now and then
I get myself in trouble with words of love guidin' my way.
I mix the words that you said with words I freely say.
Jesus, if you will, remove this cup from me.
One of our sweet sisters is tryin' to save me.
