Story Behind The Song
A wistful but beautiful song about the melancholy, loneliness and anxiety that can come the onset of the darkness and short days of the Winter season.
Song Description
A minimal, evocative, electronica song. Moving, melodic pads and synthesizers and a dark vocal, which are contrasted with an uplifting, surging outro.
The main lyric "With no daytime we get high to get smiles" is a loose drug reference, however it is more meant as a metaphor referring to the things we may do to distract ourselves from any adverse inner reflection brought on by the darkness and short evenings of Winter.
As with a lot of my music, where there are darker themes, I enjoy contrasting them with upbeat, melodic rhythms or music.
