This is the album opening track. A mission creep is a project that has exceeded the goals or scope of it's original mission. The song is very much about the composer and music itself. The lyrics are about conforming to society, getting 9-5 job and walking in "parallel paths" that many do. The subject has given up delusions of grandeur and decided after much reflection to swallow his pride, and do his part in the world, but on his own terms, whatever that may be. The mission is to live your life while being yourself, even when you don't exactly know yourself.

Song Description

The song is about a person who has been abstract and reflective in his mind and approach to life. He's finally ready to move on an become a valuable member of society, but in a way only he knows how. Reflections and abstract thinking have lead a man to the brink of insanity. He's deciding to lower his ego a bit and ground his soul and slightly conform to achieve some concrete goals. This is an opening album track and the music is largely dependent on rhythm, rather than soundscapes. The sound is gritty rock guitar and grungy bass. The vocals are catchy and straight to the point. It's also a "driving" type song and slightly hypnotizing, like the driver is locked in on the road ahead and in the sounds he is hearing.
