Recall Historical & Biblical Perspective:
From Judea people come and want to see
From Galilee they come and want to be
Baptized by John in this Jordan River
Renewing their lives this day and forever.
For repentance, John baptizes them with honor
Yet he waits for them to see the Lord
Who has more power filled their spirit with fire
His name is Jesus, John calls him his Messiah.
John the Baptist talks to Jesus:
Oh my dear Lord, I?ve been waiting for You
To wash me with this Jordan water too
Oh my dear Lord why should I baptize You?
For righteousness, I am honored to.
Lights from heaven, from the presence of the Lord
The Spirit of God absorbs our hearts and souls
Like a peaceful dove ascending from Heaven
For repentance, baptize us at the Jordan.
Instrumental
Sing for the Person who is being baptized by your Pastor:
Oh my dear Lord, may this water be mine
I want to take it once and have it last for all my life
For all my sins and woes to be washed away
With this water you?re giving me new days.
Lights from heaven, let me know where you are
The Spirit of God is spreading from afar
Like a peaceful dove ascending from Heaven
With my repentance, baptize me like at the Jordan.
