This very full sounding production packs a lot of energy. The main sounds dominating are the drums and organ. The percussion really drives this track forward. Love the drums especially toward the end.
This reminds me of a piece that might have been written by John Dankworth or Laurie Johnson or Howard Blake. It has this 60's spy adventure feel to it. It grows on you quickly. I expected to hear other instruments, but I heard nothing else entering, and then I found myself settled in and listening to this thing as it hypnotized me. I enjoy this piece! This is an infinitely interesting piece of music. I can totally see this as part of a Fluxus concert (Fluxconcert) with the music of Dick Higgins and Allison Knowles, or Yoko Ono or John Adams... I know that's a span, but that's completely what I feel from this!
The march through key variation that begins at 1:15 is refreshingly interesting to me...
I wonder if 'classical' is the right category... maybe this was placed in Avant Garde, and showed up in the general category. I'm a trained organist (pipe organ and B-3) so the voice here interests me... My initial guess is Wurlitzer theater organ stops of some sort? interesting... RAW...
