I Feel Fine

Story Behind The Song

This song pertains to a conspiracy theory regarding 09/11/2001, maintaining the event was caused from within. There is some possible validity to this since Georgie junior was very keen to finish what his dad started in Iraq. How does one get congress to bankroll a $100,000,000.00 dollar a day NAVAL action halfway around the world? Hermann Goering perhaps said it best at Nuremberg "Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."

Song Description

The song is purely a satire, acidic, sarcastic and entirely tongue in cheek...Still missing the chorus over the hook and about half of the original words (its hovering at +- 8 minutes as is). I'm afraid the entire poem would be a bit much for my memory to sustain. How I felt in 2002 may or may not be how I feel now, nevertheless, the song has a vibe and a groove I find addictive, so I posted it incomplete "as is," It's my attempt at emulating a Bob Dylan style (my poet-lyric hero). The drums, the drums, the drums...99.9% of a band is the drums....01% is the icing on top of the take!

Lyrics

I FEEL FINE
It's another day, and I feel fine.
Woke up this morning, just about ten to nine.
Turned on my television, what you think I find?

Living in a country, with Walmart on my left
and Costco on my right, you think we could
find a place to keep the, homeless at night.
It just don't seem right, living in fear every night.

We travel the ocean, searching for a terrorist in flight.
Eyes crossed you attack your own country just'a
Spoiling for a fight. It seems like nothing's changed since
Nineteen sixty-five, still fighting for our freedom just to survive.

Somewhere down in Texas a village lost their idiot, but that's
alright, Uncle Sam raised the price of gasoline just to pay for it.
It just don't seem right living everyday in fear, people try
to tell us we're the badest fucking country round here.

What's that you say Mr. Ambassador? Pull down your pants,
You're mumbling again. You got to search under your
mattress, checking for them weapons of mass destruction.
What's that, you pulled all of the tags? That's violating Homeland Security.

It used to be crazy Darrin...now it's Mr. fucking Yarbrough.
I got my weapons of mass destruction, keep em under my mattress.
I even pulled all of the tags.

I got a rocket in my pocket and I know just what to do. Better
Watch out Texas hillbilly, I'm coming after you

Its seems like nothing's changed since nineteen sixty-five.
Still fighting for our freedom, just to survive.
Somewhere down in Texas, a village lost their idiot.
