How Can I Talk To Her Now

Song Description

This guy resigns himself to spending the night alone since he was dumb enough to forget a date with someone he really wanted to go out with and doesn't know how to face her after this. What he doesn't know is the girl didn't know he forgot because she was running late and wasn't home even if he did call but she couldn't call him because she lost her new cell phone and couldn't let him know she'd swing by his place since it was so late. She shows up at his front door and he is so shocked he still doesn't know what to say to her. She is oblivious to his forgetfulness but he still feels awkward at what to say to her. She finally asks - your place or mine and because he is too embarassed to let her in his disaster zone, he thinks going to her place is a better idea. Then he continues to wonder how to unravel his tongue.

Lyrics

HOW CAN I TALK TO HER NOW

Blew my chance for sweet romance and now I'm on my own
Realized to late I forgot the date I'd made three days ago
So I guess I'll feast on chile dogs and watch a game or two
Then kick back in my Lazy Boy and think of what to do

How can I talk to her now
I'm feeling like a fool
I stood her up and that ain't cool
I broke a simple rule
So
How can I talk to her now
I'm at a loss for words
My mind and heart act like nerds
Screwin' up's for the birds
How can I talk to her now

Well when half-time came my doorbell rang
I got up from my chair
My eyes popped and my heart stopped when I saw her standing there
Said she lost her new cell phone Then she had to wait to let me know she'd pick me up but be a little late

How can I talk to her now
I'm feeling like a fool
I stood her up and that ain't cool
I broke a simple rule
So
How can I talk to her now
I'm at a loss for words
My mind and heart act like nerds
Screwin' up's for the birds
How can I talk to her now

She flashed a leg shook her hair asked your place or mine
I looked back at my messy place and said yours is just fine

How can I talk to her now
I'm feeling like a fool
I stood her up and that ain't cool
I broke a simple rule
So
How can I talk to her now
I'm at a loss for words
My mind and heart act like nerds
Screwin' up's for the birds
How can I talk to her now
