Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song comparing the state of life during the beginning of the pandemic - and all the change it brought about - to how life must have felt in the rustbelt as all the jobs left and life became increasingly anxious, sad, and frustrating.
Song Description
A song about reaction to time seemingly standing still during the pandemic, with the result of losing work, not being able to provide, and becoming increasingly nervous about the future.

Rust is in the field
the ghosts are passing by it
Slow motion scenery
Not long ago this was a vivid animation
for all American of dreams
Days aren't always kind
they burn through hesitation
Leaves you holding hollow years
And before you know
another winter's over
But the spring is never here
Out of time is just on the horizon
Out of luck is harder than it seems
Out of work, I wouldn't say to try it
Out of touch is what I've been
Please listen
We practice our routines
in daily preparation
for unknown anomalies
And still believe in
some goodness of a nation
rife with conspiracies
Now we're steeped in fear
unfortunate misfortune
And we're all just standing still
I just want to work
providing for the family
I wonder if I ever will... again...
Out of time is just on the horizon
Out of luck is harder than it seems
Out of work, I wouldn't say to try it
Out of touch is what I've been
I'll never take so much for granted, I promise... I promise
No, I'll never take so much for granted again
